Structural nails collated in 21° plastic strips are professional
fasteners designed for machine-driven installation using pneumatic and
gas-powered nailers. Designed for timber-to-timber connections in
accordance with Eurocode 5, they feature a full round head. This
ensures maximum resistance to head pull-through, which is critical in
load-bearing components. The plastic collation is completely resistant
to moisture and low temperatures, preventing the strips from falling
apart on the construction site when exposed to precipitation.
When a nail is driven, the strip breaks away cleanly
without contaminating the tool mechanism. Plastic-collated nails are
widely used in timber-frame construction, carpentry and roofing. They
are used to assemble roof structures, wall frames, floor structures
and OSB sheathing, as well as in the prefabrication industry and the
production of heavy-duty wooden packaging.
Depending on the required withdrawal resistance, the nails are
available with smooth, ring or screw shanks. Profiled versions prevent
connections from loosening as the timber moves. Three finish options
are available: uncoated steel for indoor use, and electro-galvanised
or hot-dip galvanised steel for outdoor applications exposed to
weather conditions.
